I have calculated depreciation through March 2009 and closed the period. We just finished with an audit and we have to dispose an asset as of 12/31/08. Is there anyway to do this? When I went into the current year company and tried to dispose the asset as of 12/31/08 I got a message saying that the disposal date could not be before the last period close date (3/31/09). Do I need to go into my 2008 company database? If so, how do I update 2009 and the 3 months that have been depreciated?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! 

 I have not had to do this yet, but I believe a closed period can be reopened.
